day patch vs night patch: an honest guide

day patch vs night patch: an honest guide

Two patches, two jobs. Here's the honest manual - including the part about when a patch is the wrong tool.

the two, side by side

vestela. day vestela. night
cut ultra-thin, feathered edges thick, cushioned dome
actives none - pure hydrocolloid 1% salicylic acid inside
wear window 4-8 hours 8-12 hours, overnight
makeup yes - pat, don't rub no need, you're asleep
best for meetings, gym, daylight the long absorbing shift

the wear rules

1. hydrocolloid needs hours, not minutes.
2. swap the patch once it's gone visibly white and saturated - a full patch has done all the absorbing it can.
3. one patch, one wear - a used patch holds what it absorbed, so it retires after one shift.
4. clean, dry skin before every patch - the 1% salicylic acid does the rest inside the seal.

The routine that works: thin patch through the day, thick patch overnight, repeat until the spot is boring. the day + night set is that routine in one pouch - and it saves 11%.

when a patch shines - and when it won't

Honesty time. A hydrocolloid patch is at its best on a surfaced spot - a whitehead or an open, weeping blemish with fluid to absorb. On closed bumps, blackheads, and deep painful spots that never surface, there's little for the gel to drink, so expect protection from picking but not much visible change. Deep, persistent, painful acne deserves a dermatologist, not a sticker - and we'd rather tell you that than sell you one.
