what each one does

Cellulose Gum - the absorber. This is the hydrocolloid heart of the patch: it absorbs fluid from and around the spot and locks it in the gel - the swelling gel is what turns white.

Styrene Isoprene Styrene Block Copolymer - the flexible body. Lets the patch hug skin and stay on for 8 hours.

Polyisobutylene - the gentle grip. Skin-friendly adhesion without harshness.

Hydrogenated Hydrocarbon Resin - the tackifier that keeps edges sealed - a quiet vacuum seal for the spot.

Polyurethane Film - the shield. Thin, matte, keeps water and fingers out.

Salicylic Acid (1%) - the active. Helps visibly clear the look of the pore while the hydrocolloid absorbs. Not to be used for children under 3. the full story in the journal.
